Co-op Registration Instructions

Mark your calendar for August 11, 2009 for Registration at Dryden Wesleyan Church.

Registration for co op will be August 11th starting at 9:30 am.  We will be following the same procedure as last year. We will break families up into groups A,B,C, & D.  When the time comes to register a particular group, it will then be first come first serve after the previous group is complete. The breakdown of this list will be in a follow up email. This seems to be the fairest & simplest way we have found to register up to 150 children in one day, with fairly little confusion.

Before registration day: please print out 2 copies of a file named "Family Note Sheet", 1 copy of the Registration form, and 1 copy of the Medical Release form.  All of these documents will be made available within the next week or so.

Decide which classes your children will be taking and fill in both copies of this Family Note. One will be for your records to use during registration and the other will need to be turned in at the end table during registration. Please pick out a first & second choice just in case a class fills up.  We will be starting a waiting list on classes that fill to determine if there is enough interest and/or a teacher & room to run another class.  Please note:  classes with low enrollment may be subject to cancellation. We have once again tried to come up with a large variety of classes to choose from according to the projected ages of enrollment. We are excited about another year of co op and hopefully you are as well.

We will set up 7 tables in the gym.  Please only use the gym door entrances. Do NOT use the front entrances.  Thank you.

One table will be for registration payment, one for each hour during co op, one for cleaning sign up, and one for assistant sign up. Guitar lesson sign up will be included at the ‘1st Hour’ table.

You will advance to each table as you complete your child (ren)’s registration.  You may go to any table in the order in which you desire after you first visit the registration payment table first.  The church has not raised our rent (yea!) so the registration fee will remain $80 per family. Many of you sold candy to help offset this amount – a couple of you sold enough to cover the entire registration fee – kudos!  The balance of the registration fee is due on registration day. If you need to know what your balance is – please contact our treasurer, Doreen Haupt at dar102492@aol.com.  If you have special circumstances, please contact us to discuss it.

Registration Agenda:

9:30 Registration for Group A
10:30 Orientation for ALL TEACHERS
11:30 Registration for Group B
12:30 Registration for Group C
1:00 Orientation for RETURNING FAMILIES NOT TEACHING and NEW FAMILIES
2:00 Registration for Group D

As you can see, we have once again scheduled the 2 orientations just before and just after group registrations so families can come at the appropriate time and not be required to stay all day. For example: if a teacher is in Group A she will come at 9:30 register her children then stay for the orientation at 10:30 and then will be free to leave. If a teacher is in group B then she will have to be there at 10:30 for orientation and will register her children after the meeting at 11:30 and then is free to leave.  The same will be true for groups C & D.

You may bring your children if you choose, but please keep them with you. These orientation meetings are important and therefore mandatory. Communication is the key for co op running smoothly by avoiding confusion and hopefully will answer any questions you may have.

Lastly, we have scheduled two ‘PE 10+’ and two ‘Odyssey of the Mind’ classes.  We did this to hopefully catch some of the overflow and avoid an unmanageable size classroom, yet still provide the opportunity for many to take these classes. Because of this reason, we are not allowing you to sign up your student(s) for both classes at registration.  If after registration is over and we find there is still room in either of the classes we will allow a student to register in both classes.  Please let the leadership member that is registering the corresponding hour know that this is your desire and she will make note of it and will notify you if there is room.

If you have any questions regarding registration – please contact Debbie Bowman at deb4him@gmail.com.
