In this list you will find class descriptions, age ranges, fee amounts, and outlines for the classes we are offering this year.  We have done our best to provide complete information for you. The list is alphabetized by class name.

If you have any questions about the content of a class, it's best to contact the teacher. However, please do not ask the teacher to pre-approve your child to take the class if he or she falls outside the age range. Teachers often feel pressured into saying “yes” and usually it doesn't benefit the class or the student. Some teachers are flexible in this regard, but you can ask Deb Bowman or Lisa Wagner if a certain class is flexible in this regard. seedsfaith@gmail.com

Introduction to Lego Robotics/Lego Robotics Obstacle Course (ages 9-14) Teacher: Gordon Winther - Fee $60
Lego Robotics uses the motivational advantages of robotics to teach math, science and technology concepts. In Lego Robotics, students have the opportunity to progress through a series of workshops to manipulate, experiment and master the construction and programming of different robotic devises. The different levels of this robotic program build upon one another so that students first learn how to utilize the Lego material and software and eventually create and write programs of their own. Using a combination of Lego pieces, motors, sensors and a Lego microprocessor, students create and problem solve through a number of different projects. These projects help students learn how to engineer and program various robotic devises that must accomplish a variety of tasks. At this level student become familiar with the Lego Robotics material by building 4 different robotic models and programming them to do various tasks. Students will have to build and then program a robotic device that will be able to travel from a starting point to an ending point, avoiding objects as it travels through various courses.
